Who actually is Jofa? And what does he represent?

To understand who Jofa is, one must go back in time.

Understading Jofaception

2012 - 2014

It all started when Monarch, known back then as 'Joopii' or Ossi (his real name), was 13 years old.

He would spend most of his time playing RuneScape and participating in Ylilauta (a Finnish 4chan-style forum), gradually gaining a lot of influence over time.

At that time, Joopii's RuneScape arch-nemesis was a player called 'rsjofa' (or simply, Jofa), and they would frequently gamble against each other using RuneScape gold.

One day, as the RuneScape economy thrived more and more, Joopii began engaging in DDoS attacks as a way to make money more easily, even showcasing his attacks on his YouTube channel.

This method was highly successful for Ossi, as he accumulated over €80,000 from the attacks.

Being such a young kid and having made such a large sum of money, Ossi decided to brag about it to one of his victims during a Skype call. This person was Tomi, known back then as 'pureofrune' and now as 'Stickyhand'. During this call, Tomi learned of Ossi's identity and had his mother report him to the police.

Later on, Jofa started threatening Ossi that if he didn't pay him RuneScape gold, he would make Ossi's face a meme on the forum. And so it seemed. A thread was posted on Ylilauta revealing Ossi's law violations and 'ddossi-ossi' became a huge meme.

Ossi's house was later raided by the police and his gaming machines were taken away. However, since Ossi was 14 years old, he was not criminally responsible for his actions, which meant he could continue to earn money by legal means.

Since Ossi thought that Jofa had made the thread that led to the story and was bitter about losing the money, he decided to enact revenge on him. Thinking he found a picture of him, he decided to make it into a meme. Indeed, this picture was of him (or so he thought - as it was, in reality, Atte Lempelto's) wearing a camo hoodie.

Ossi started to make numerous threads on Ylilauta with Atte's picture and plenty others followed suit by making countless variations of this picture. All of this while building Killian's company, a RuneScape poker website, called bigboibets.

Over the course of several months, Ossi's loyal servants posted dozens of absolutely hilarious videos advertising Jofa in the most creative ways. Whether it was storming the principal's office and screaming a mantra of Jofa, getting naked and covering their bodies in Jofa pictures, or dancing in front of their family on Thanksgiving dinner until their dad flipped the table in rage.

Jofa quickly became an absolutely massive meme.

Ossi was able to convert a large portion of the Ylilauta community into joining the idea of spreading the Jofa meme. Since at the time, there was a big divide in the community between anime supporters and anime haters, he pitched them the idea that Jofa would act as a symbol of protest against anime. Essentially, spamming Jofa on the website would be a signal towards the site administrators, which would support their agenda of finally getting anime banned.

They were spreading the message of 'joining the resistance' against the site admins, and they widely spread a copy-pasta containing all the instructions on how to download various images, videos, tools, and automated software for spamming the Jofa meme, and how to automatically evade bans and keep creating new accounts with proxies.

This strategy was incredibly effective as the copy-pasta was spreading like wildfire, and more and more people kept joining 'the resistance'.

Gradually, the videos by Ossi's loyal servants got increasingly more crazy, and when these videos were posted on Ylilauta, the servants were getting overwhelming amounts of positive attention from the Jofa-loving anime haters. This again led to a positive loop; the servants would receive praise from him and the community, and this would lead to content which attracted a lot of visibility, which would convert more and more people to the Team Jofa; the resistance against the Ylilauta administration.

Along with these campaigns, Ossi came up with numerous other creative methods of spreading the Jofa meme: He would win a Finnish modeling contest with Jofa's face, he would buy ads on various Finnish websites for Jofa, and he would hack large industrial printers and welcome their employees to their office with a ton of Jofa-variations printed on the floor.

Eventually, Ylilauta's site administrator managed to find out who Ossi was, giving him a last warning before they would report him to the police.

This is where he would pull off the next part of the plot: He would create an AMA thread on Ylilauta, where it was stated that it was actually Tomi ('Pureofrune') who was behind this Project-Jofa, because he was salty at Ossi since he DDoSed him and that he was salty at Jofa because he bullied him in school.

Additionally, Ossi conveyed the story that with all the money he had made from RuneScape, he would be buying Ylilauta, and that he would be finally banning anime, and that Jofa would be a new mascot of Ylilauta. To make this story believable, he discovered an XSS-vulnerability on the site, and lured a bunch of people in the community to visit one of his fake websites which had a script injected in the background which would change their CSS settings on Ylilauta. The next time they would refresh their page on Ylilauta, the name would be changed to 'Ossinlauta' which translates to 'Ossi's forum', and the logo of Ylilauta was changed to a picture of his face. This made people truly believe that Ossi was the owner of Ylilauta, and the meme of Tomi and Jofa continued spreading like wildfire.

The Jofa-Project carried on for a couple of years. During which, Ossi would spend most of his time on it, until he found out that he had the wrong target. The guy pictured with the camo hoodie wasn't in fact 'Jofa' from RuneScape.

For many years, people kept spamming the glorious story of Jofaception on Ylilauta, which was a 7-chapter long copypasta regarding the entire story of Jofa, Tomi and Ossi. In fact, in that version of the story, it still supports the narrative that Tomi was the one spamming Jofa, when in fact it was Ossi.

Understanding the present Jofa

2023 - Present

After years of being misrepresented for someone he's not, the idea of attributing the name Jofa to Atte's camo hoodie picture became inescapable - the meme became inescapable. Indeed, Jofa (Atte's depiction) became the ultimate victim, the man who was wronged for so many years: the man who paid the price for someone else's actions. What was once a meme born out of revenge became a symbol of revolution and protest.

After the release of The CSGORoll Files, Monarch took on the great mission of exposing Killian for his current fraudulent activities but also in unmasking his dark, shady past. He revealed the time where Killian robbed him out of his shares of their old Poker website, bigboibets - a joint venture between the two of them, and had him on modafinil working slave hours on the business.

It was after this exposé that he would begin reminding the world of the old tales of 'Jofaception' - the lore of old. As the skin gambling world was clueless of it and no one knew of Joopii and what he was capable of, no one would be prepared for what would come.

Killian should have been. After all, he saw the whole Project Jofa happen before his very own eyes and he saw young Joopii carefully and masterfully plotting everything.

It was in the midst of the war against CSGORoll that the lore would be revived. After almost a decade since the original Jofaception, Ossi would be finally meeting up with names of old.

The Chinese Slave would be summoned to protest CSGORoll by spreading flyers and warning the people of Paris that were attending the CS:GO Major of their wrong-doings.

After turning an enemy of old into a friend, he would have Pureofrune perform a stunt that would bring him fame: gluing his hand on the slot machine that CSGORoll had at the Paris Major as a form of protest. With this stunt, Pureofrune would now be known as 'Stickyhand'.

As the war went on, Ossi would reveal many details about his past relationship with Killian and of his own past - the story of Joopii. He would also begin livestreaming and that is where he would be answering questions from people and dropping bits of information about the lore.

As time would go, more people would gain interest about the story of Ossi: how Monarch came about and who Joopii was. It was clear that the world needed to know about Jofaception and why it was brought back.

A small community was then founded. It was called the Monarch's Castle and its purpose was to revive the idea of Jofa, educate the public on the lore and most importantly gather people to fight the good war against CSGORoll.

And so it happened: Jofa would become a meme again and the lore started to spread once more.

As the Monarch's Castle started to expand and more people would start to join, the mission and responsibility of those who maintained it became greater. What was once a small community became an independent organisation in and of itself.

The Castle was founded, alongside other smaller sub-organisations of it - each with a different purpose but the same common goal: to clean up the online casino industry of bad actors.

And with the foundation of it, Jofa became something much greater, it became a symbol of revolution and protest. It became the embodiment of all those who fell victim to illegitimate casinos.

Indeed, Jofa was wronged so that no one else would again ever be.
